CKC 2011!

Well, the event of my year, Creative Keepsakes Scrapbooking Convention in Bellevue has finally been attended... It was everything I had hoped it would be and more- as usual! It is truly amazing how uplifting it is to be surrounded by some many crafty people, especially my dear friend Daphne.

Here we are after our first cup of coffee, about a ream of paper purchased, & participating in our first Make &Take of the day using Acrylic Boards.

Next it was off to my first class where I met the entertaining Sandi- who influenced a win in my direction! Yahoo (Little did I know I would end up being a BIG winner when the day was through)! It is so great meeting new friends while in the midst of a fast-paced project... note to Sandi's friends- she needs glue for christmas!
Here we are with Linda from Technique Tuesdays "Life is a Journey" mini-album class.
And our Celebrity dream meet- Shelby! From Embelish It! I also enjoyed a chat with her husband Steve and dished on her upcoming Cruises... Talk about a dreamy convo!

Ahhh... it was a wonderful way to expel some creative energy that has been building up in anticipation of this weekend retreat. Now.
TO "WORK" (nothing this fun is real work :-o)!
Goals: Finish layouts I started in my 5 classes!
Finish the mini album and actually personalize it!
Surprise Daphne somehow!
Be on one of those cruises with Shelby next year!!!

Here is the first layout I was able to finish, using S.E.I. stickers I bought and a picture of Lawrence I had in my purse. Perfect!

I'm a StudioJaholic

How can I not be when I can create beautiful scrapbook layouts like the one above with a few clicks of the mouse. Although I love to get my hands on the actual paper, I can fulfill that need by adding to my layout when I recieve it, about a week after completion. Mine will be here tomorrow!
I can't wait to order a copy for my new Sister-In-Law to pick up at her closest retail store, I know she'll love it (isn't she gorgeous!?)

Thanksgiving Card: Project Inspiration Autumn/Winter 2011 Idea Book

"Enjoy" Scrapbook Page Pops with Flowers: Project Inspiration Autumn/Win...

Close to My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge Cupcake card

I have a fever!

A fever to get my craft on that is :-)
Ever since welcoming baby Rainy at the beginning of the year, I have experienced a severe lack of craft! Of course, she is worth every moment not spent creating, as she is my greatest masterpiece (and much easier to show off).
HOWEVER- There are even more pictures that need to be scrapbooked, and less time to create pages to adhere them to. Good thing I have my StudioJ membership through Close To My Heart, what a lifesaver. I can make a lot of pages online, quickly.  BUT, part of my addiction is that I need to feel the paper! Also, thanks to my dear friend Daphne, I recieve inspiration via mail in the form of my Creating Keepsakes Magazine subscribtion! My head is nearly bursting with ideas.
I am so grateful that my mom has been coming over on weekends so that I can get my craft ON.

I was especially inspired by two ideas featured in the latest magazine: Overlapping Photos, and Clustering. I am usually timid when it comes to adding embellishments, so it was a big step out of my comfort zone to keep adding, and adding, and then adding some more to these two layouts.
When my sister Ruby was here last month we took a trip to Mt. Rainier that was filled with hilarity. The overlapping photos in this layout seems to bring some of that casual, fun-filled spirit out, don't you think?

My sweet Rainier is so full of energy now, and I used the Clustering technique again to try to bustle up some of that excitement and adhere it to the paper... I hope you enjoy these pages as  much as I do!

Wing'in It

We recieved so many thoughtful gifts for Rainier, I just had to make some thank you cards for the givers... using the Wings Level Two paper packet ting papers a snap, and I just looked at the kit's colors of Black, Juniper, Sweet Pea and Vineyard Berry to perfectly match my inks!
